Can anyone recall what this bad boy retailed when it was first for sale on Busse's site? I want one but won't pay over what they originally cost.
Thanks brothers!

Especially the V8. I keep my eye on them as they pop up and I believe the normal price recently is around 700-900 depending on customizations.

I just paid $800 for a particularly nice nuclear FMV-8 and $900 for an FMV-14 in a combo I needed to fill out a sword set. And I already have more of each than I have any use for. I wouldn't let a CG FMV-8 go for less than $600, or a Competition version for less than $700. And then only if I were in dire need of cash.

Thanks for your replies guys. No matter how much I like the blade, I will not support the crew that buys Busses just to make a buck. When I first fell in love with Busse, I was going to meet a gentleman that lives 30 minutes from me and give him $700 for an HR2. He told me he waited 6 months for the delivery. On Busse's website, I think it says it could take 6 months to aquire your order. I used to collect 1911s and it took YEARS before that badboy was ready so I thought overpaying $200 wasn't so bad. He ended up selling it to someone else for $800 and told me not to come on the day we were to meet. I came here and found out that a new order from Busse sometimes ships that week. I ordered that same HR2 that I was going to pay $700 for except with the scales I preferred on Saturday. It was on my doorstep on Wednesday for less than $500. Unfortunately my wife opened the box so I had to resell it but instead of being a #@%/&, I sold it for what I paid and it was gone in an hour.

With that said... I will no longer pay more than what Busse charges for a Blade. I am no collector. I plan to use this knife and not let it sit for 6 years just to turn a profit. If I can't find a force multiplier for what Busse charged, than I shall wait for his next offering of a dagger. If it takes 2 years so be it... I don't need it. I would just like to have it.

I hope I didn't offend anyone. It seems that this is normal practice on eBay. Someone will place an order and immediately put it up for sale and attempt to make a quick 20%. Thats what I love about BF. You guys probably feel the same way I do about ticket scalpers and 95% of the sales I see are guys just wanting their money back.

If anyone has a force multiplier and no longer wants it, please reply here and I will give you my email.

And if you think you're going to get one for less than the original price, you don't know Busse very well. These are appreciating assets.
The reason for this thread was to find msrp. I am not trying to get it for less but also not trying to get it for more.

Thanks for this. $600 + shipping + 4% PP charge is what I would pay. If I find one great. If not, I will wait until Busse makes another.

Keep an eye out on this forum for Ganzaaas. You might find what you're looking directly from Busse at a price you're comfortable with. It might be a little late for FMV-8s, but you never know. Or they might come out with something you like better. You never know.

ETA: I waited 12 years for Busse to release something like the FMV-8. Prior to that, they had the BOSC-ID around 2006, which was super limited and never available through the website; and then a few years ago they had the Hawkeye daggers, which weren't what I was looking for. Busse will certainly come up with something you like in the next couple years, but I doubt they'll be offering anything like the FMV-8 any time soon.

Spindrift has precisely what I want for less than cost. Im not sure if the guy that asked for it 10 days ago got it though. I replied to the thread. Thanks for the info. I will follow Ganzaas if I can with a basic membership.

Out of curiosity what do you intend to use a FMV8 for? I've owned a pile of them and I can't think of one practical use for it unless you're trying to pick up chicks or shiv a dude in a bar fight.

That is a great question my friend. Out of your two options, I am going to have to go with the pick up chicks one. Please don't tell my wife! I don't go to bars so shiving a guy isn't an option. You are now making me rethink the purchase. I figured with a proper angle and sharpness that it could be used to slice, but being so wide on in the middle, there are many other blades that will work so much better. I would carry it with me in the woods, but other than fighting off a bear, what good would that do? I also think I'd pull my 10mm before I pulled the FMV8, and considering its a Wilson Combat 1911, its going to go bang everytime so a backup is unnecessary. Great post....

The nuked FMV8s were incredible, I kept one even though its the least needed knife I own. Like Gandhi mentioned, its basically a toothpick in function :D:D:D:eek::eek::eek::cool::cool::cool::thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

M Mikeltee Yeah, to be honest if you're looking for a knife at Busse prices that is going to be a user with some utility, I think I'd go with a TGULB. I'm partial to the competition finish version:

The V8 is one of the coolest knives from the shop in my opinion, but definitely not one I'd ever use for anything another knife wouldn't be better at unless I wanted to attach it to a stick and make a spear. :)

If you want further value information on knives, please consider upgrading to Gold membership level on this website- apologies, but this is a site-wide rule, not just here.
Also. This thread has degraded completely into a WTB thread. This discussion forum is for discussion only, please place your WTB requests in the Knives: Wanted To Buy forum in the Exchange, thank you.

Thanks Jaxx for setting me straight but I assure you I had no intention of creating a WTB in the wrong forum section, and if you had read the whole thread you would have seen that I decided that this was not the knife for me. This is the information section of the website. I came here for info and received valuable info. If you feel that I need to pay you for this valuable info from other members that keep this forum active than maybe this is not the place I need to hang my hat...

Ganzaas are announced here on the Forum, so you would need to check in frequently. They are open to all. You can also contact the Shop to get on their email distro list and not miss anything.

You may have noticed that only Gold members can sell on BF. That led to non-paying members to ask a question like "Hey, I have an ABCXYZ, what's it worth?" as an underhanded way of essentially posting a knife for sale. So the BF owner added a rule that only Gold members can ask for value of a specific blade.

Your request for the original price seems to me to not run afoul of that rule. But, hey, I'm not a moderator. Stick around, this is a good place and the mods on this sub-forum have a light hand.
