Hey guys,
I want a really tough, little EDC. One that can take a lot of abuse (not that I intend to abuse it, I just want to know it could take it) but still is a great cutter, also for finer detail work (whittling, skinning, food prep).
I've narrowed it down to the GW (a GW Hack to be exact) and Mini Canadian in 3V (not sure about the Mini Fox River in 3V).
I think the Mini Canadian might be better for the detail work, but the GW is basically indestructable. That's one issue, the other one is the huge price difference between the two.
I've been brooding over this for months now and I think it's time to ask for another opinion.
Which one would you go with and why?

Thanks

Andy

The GW would be my choice.

What thickness? That makes a big difference in the chores you are talking about as well.

I used to carry a .22 game warded with a lovely polished convex edge. It worked for what I used it for, but a thinner model would have been preferable.

The GW hack has no choil, which for me is a big plus.

My fixed blade edc these days tends to be a BAD (thin, and higher hardness version of the AD).

if I could find a HACK in the .17 to .19 range, I'd go for that, but most HACKs are .22 (at least the ones that I've seen).

I like my mini canadian in A2. I've got zero experience with BRKT 3V, but I've used 3V by strider and it's an excellent steel.
The only thing to think about w/ the mini canadian is it doesn't have a whole handle. It's missing handle on the front finger choil.
I would imagine the game warden would be much more comfortable, depending on what you're cutting of course.
