I've recently fallen in love with the Busse Game Warden. However, my knowledge of it is somewhat limited. So, yet again, I have some questions.

1. I'm aware of the fact that Busse has three-year production cycles. Do any of you know when the next one will be?

2. What some of the customization options I need to consider before my purchase?

3. Are there any accessories I should purchase along with my Game Warden?

4. What are the pros and cons of INFI steel?

Also, don't forget to post any other important/useful you may have!

TTAWR!

I'd suggest you post your questions in the Busse subforum:

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=713

But to answer them here as briefly as possible:

1. There is no regular production cycle. Knives are available for sale when they're available for sale and they're not when they're not. Game Wardens are generally sold through the Busse Company Store. The store web site is:

http://www.bussecompanystore.com/

2. There are no customization options unless you pay for them separately. You'll need to contact Busse Combat directly to make those arrangements. They can be reached Monday through Friday, 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. EST., at (419) 923-6471.

3. Accessories for Game Wardens are generally available from the Busse Company Store when Game Wardens are for sale at the Busse Company Store. If you don't find the accessories you want, you'll have to locate and purchase them separately.

4. The pros and cons of INFI steel are best researched in the Busse subforum.

Last but not least, Busse Combat maintains an active secondary market here:

Game Wardens come up for sale periodically on the secondary market, but you'll pay a premium for them.

Good luck. :)

game wardens are not currently available from busse combat.

as mentioned, you can buy one from the busse exchange here. they are readily available and come in various configurations, 30+, iirc.

thicknesses will vary from .14" to about .27". i prefer the thinner ones, and the only one i have now is a .14" orange scaled "oj" warden.

prices will probably range from about $200-$300 or so.

And ... it's moved.

Welcome to the Busse universe.

Abandon hope all ye who enter here. :D;)

Yes, you may have heard/read that Busse is on a three year production cycle. In the real world ... not so much. Do not expect the GW to return. Do a little digging on the 30+ versions that have been made, haunt the Exchange to see what's for sale, and post a WTB. Right now is the best time in recorded history to buy a Busse, the selection on the Exchange is all one could ask for, and prices are very good (for buyers, at least)

Yep, what morimotom said. I have a handful of them and my recommendation would be to get a thinner satin version. Some guys are all about the fatties but my oj warden has been hand convexed and it is tough and a great slicer. Good luck.

Check out this thread for a list of all (or most of) the Game Wardens. Lil' Foo did a great job of pulling all the GW info together.

Once you pick one (or several) that you are interested in, you might want to post in the Wanted To Buy thread as well as keeping an eye on the For Sale thread.

Good luck in your quest!

...So ya like the Game Wardens, huh??

I got just 2 words for you...

Gateway Drug LOL!

;) :D:D Yep, that's how I started... just wanted a few GW's 4 years ago, and now I'm INFI addicted... :D Check one out, you'll be glad that ya did!:thumbup:

Lots of good advice here, especially from my brother Mod above... The only thing that i can add is to search threads in here and on the X (exchange), and do your homework on them, so you get exactly what you want for a fair amount of cabbage.

Good Hunting!

I have a satin/pumpkin .22 with a convex edge.

Nice polished convex, with a nice blend to the primary flat grind. .22 thick but still a great slicer, and plenty fine point for detail work, plus thicker for the heavier use.

Makes a great companion to a bigger knife too!
