Can anyone ID this knife and maybe date it. Just got it from a friend that's away and I forgot what model he told me it was. Thanks

Clip point "desert" Natural Outlaw Ergo (NO-e) variant, IIRC. :) I'm not sure about the date, but it was not all that recent. Nice knife.

Pretty sure that the Badger ergo has a smaller choil. I could be wrong on that. :)

It's a beaut fo sho! Digging a bit, I'd guess that it's mebbe roughly 7-9 years old...? But I'd wait for someone more knowledgeable than me to put an accurate date on it. I do know that some of the first ergos with desert tan coats were released sometime around 2003 according to an old thread by Jerry, but he mentions them being serial numbered. Not sure how much later these variants from the Custom Shop came out in the very small numbers that they did.

Yep clip point desert NO-e. I'm thinking 2003. Great knife! Nice sheath, too.
Congrats that's some friend you have.

ACTUALLY, I had one of those and it is a ZTNO Variant!!! It has a sharpened back edge and one of the best feeling blades in a ERGO package out there. Most of your NO-e and NO-e variants will retain the .250-.270 thickness. That one with coating will be around .200"

Here is an old pic of mine and it's 3rd from the right. Notice it's with several of the differnent NO's and Variants.

Nice catch, Russ! I didn't even notice the saber grind. :o:)

Interesting. never even seen one of those before. The Clip Point Desert No-E is rare enough, with only 14 made. How rare is this one?
