I recently inherited a collection of Busse knives and have some queries.
Should I treat these as an investment or just something I should sell?
They really aren't much good to me as I have no use for them.
I have had one enquiry to buy all for just a couple of hundred dollars each, which i
politely declined, only to then have this person get very irate question the authenticity as i had so many!

Any help and advice much appreciated.

Respectfully..

You might consider updating to a gold membership. With a gold membership you can post pics , ask for values and sell. You will not find a better place for opinions and feedback on anything “Busse”. There are some solid members here who can give you all the information you’ll need.

Congratulations on the inheritance (sorry for your loss as well , if that applies).

You are in the right place.

Some veteran HOG will be along shortly to chime in...

I agree with all mentioned above. Sign up for gold membership here. You’ll get tons of info on your collection. I would fair to guess once you acquire info on your Busses. You will then be able to make a much better decision on what you want to do. But know this, you have found the right place to get the information / help you are asking for.
You might just might have some fun while hanging out here, even if for short while.

If you're looking to make an investment there are more lucrative investments you can make. You're not going to make 10x returns or dividends on them. That said, you can make money on Busse knives but there is a ceiling and depending on the model they are probably at that ceiling already if have 3+ year old models. It also takes a while for the knives to appreciate in value if you have newer models.

I'd say if you're not a knife person and don't have sentimental connections to any of them I say sell them. I'd do it here because it costs $30 for the membership and there are no seller fees like on eBay where you'll get hit for 10%.

I personally invest in precious metals - gold, silver, and INFI.:D

One last thing, if you have a TGLB or variant, keep it and get a sheath for it if it doesn't have one. Might need it for 2020 given the state of the world.

Hi zanuss -

Yes - sell them if you have no particular use or attraction to them. Busse knives can be valuable.

As stated well above - buy a gold membership here to allow you to sell here, which in my experience is the best place to find people to buy Busse knives.

Also - take good pictures of the knives, preferably on a backdrop that will allow the viewer to see the sizes of the knives.

I am sad to hear that your windfall came at the cost of a dear one.

best regards

I agree with everything that’s been said thus far. The only thing I would add is that the community here on BladeForums is not only where you’ll find the most Busse “fanboys” who will want to buy the knives, but the community is hyper honest (in my experience). If you’re asking hogs to help you price your knives, they aren’t going to mislead you into selling for too cheap. You might get “that guy” who says some wazoo price, but the group will set you straight.

Great advice here by the others members and I agree "get a gold membership minimum" then develop a positive record of selling + buying on your trading profile. Some of us are actively looking for certain model older Busse and "military overruns & special editions". We can't even message you currently so an upgraded membership would help by posting pictures of the knives you are considering selling.
Happy New Year!
