I finally got my KMG grinder all set up with a VFD drive, so it is ready to start doing some mods and maybe try to grind some knives from raw stock. I hope the Sus Scrofas ship soon, I can't wait to mod one of those! I am also looking at my FFBM and trying to think of some mods to do on it, any ideas?

Oh, I got ideas...

The FFFBM could use a full height grind, a little bolo in the belly, and a hefty swedge. ...and don't forget the zero edge:D

The box on the far left is a Variable Frequency Drive (VFD, it converts 220v. single phase to three phase power and allows you to vary the speed of the motor by adjusting the frequency supplied to the motor), it is a variable speed drive for the three phase 2hp motor.

im gonna see if the shop will make one of my scrofa's a true wharnicliff. the hawkbill is cool, but not so utilitarian.

sweet set up ducci!!!

Wow...I obiviously just don't know enough about household electricity!:o Give me a car with good ole DC and I'll rip it apart and re-wire the sucker but this Household AC stuff is starting to confuse the heck out of me. Frogfish was talking a little about the pros of 220v compared to 110v, and he lost me about 30 seconds into the conversation. Looks like I'm going to have to do some reading. But I do get the varying the speed thing!;) And that's cool!

Nice!

And did anyone else know exactly what was in the thread before they even opened it? :D

I'm wondering how randucci combines the Bowflex Fitness chart with the new KMG grinder.

Can you say ducci-cise?

Feel the burn. :p

Keep the ideas coming, they are all good! :D
