Hey guys, just noticed a book called "The Tactical Knife" being sold on page 88 on the most recent Blade mag and it appears to have two Busse knives featured on the cover. It seemed to me Busse may have been involved in the book's publication to get that kind of attention. Anyone know the scoop?

The Busse family knives were used to lure people in. The book features quite a bit of history on knives but has about a paragraph for Busse. The author has a Steel Heart if I remember correctly that is about it. Zero Busse involvement in the book. Not impressed with this book at all.

The knives on the cover are Busse SFNO, Swamp Rat custom shop RMD and a Scrapyard SOD.

I was a good book but a bit of disappointment becouse he written only two words "GOOD WORDS INDEED" about Busse Co,
and conversely he written pages and pages on the other company knive.
However this guy is ex special forces.

Yep, but did you notice that in this Blade magazine dedicated to knives carried by the military there wasn't one Busse shown.

The author is an obvious Chris Reeve, Daniel Winkler fan boy. They of course make amazing "tactical" knives. They are both featured page after page. He also has page after page of gerber, ESEE, and becker knives.

Why did he choose to put Busse family knives on the cover? He gives a great review and states that he tore a car up. I would be interested in what Jerry has to say about this. I would guess he doesn't need permission to put those knives on the cover. Is that a stock photo from someplace?

Second on that:thumbup:

Who cares. What does it matter? We don't need some book to validate what we and I'm sure several hundred soldiers know about Busse. Besides, we're on the cover, we're in the book. Good enough.

I dont care it was a decent book. I just found it very misleading to have those on the cover. Several threads have tackled this. I am fairly certain I started one.

I agree with tundratrader,
Unless he had permission or made a deal with Busse Jerry.
That microscopic article is un unfair in comparison with others.

At least the Busse(kin) knives on the cover give BCK,SYKC, and SRKW some Publicity and help to get the name out even more.

+1
Who cares.
WE know these are the best.
'Nuff said.

I am confused by the picture lineup comparison seeing as how the blades are all quite drastically different. Of course a Bagwell Gambler cannot withstand the kind of tip abuse a BK9 will handle.

Worth a flip through, but I'd be more likely to spend book money on the Knives 31st edition for that purpose.

The real the issue is that, cover like that deceive the buyer to believe that at list good part of the book talk about Busse Knife...when actually is NOT:mad:
