I saw on a dealers site that the Busse Basics like #5 will either come with, or have an option of, a kydex sheath? Truth or fiction? I don't like the idea of having one custom made for lots of money.

If it's true, anyone have ideas on design or if it will allow inverted or ambi carry?

Do it right,or not at all.

To the best of my knowledge, all new Busses come with leather sheath standard with an option of a kydex sheath at an additional cost. Hope this helps.

There are only two types of people; those who understand this, and those who think they do.

Hi Riley,

If you want to consider alternatives to a Busse original sheath for your blade, there are places on the web to get a Kydex sheath made without spending "lots of money".

Check out Newt Livesay's Wicked Knife Company: http://members.tripod.com/~Newt_Livesay/index2.html. High quality at very reasonable prices.

Another option is On/Scene Tactical, who work with Concealex: http://www.mnsi.net/~nbtnoel/

I'm also sure there are a lot of other high quality sheath makers out there. These happen to be the two I'm most aware of.

For all we know, there may be some benevolent forum member who will be willing to trade his earlier kydex sheath for a newer leather model. Seems like we're normally a rather friendly bunch here, would this help? You could probably post here and/or in the selling/trading forum.

Anyone?

Bueller?

I would trade the kydex sheath that came with my Basic #5 for one of the new leather sheaths. Email me if you want to swap.
