I was talking with a buddy of mine this past weekend and he asked a good question- if you strip your Busse, can you send it back into the shop and get the logo re-applied to the blade?

It often stays. I do believe you can send it back in for this though. Call the shop.

I would have to say no, not unless you have them re finish the blade. Otherwise some may pawn it off as an original Busse Factory knife...

ive stripped two blades - a hhfsh (logo stayed) and a dssf (logo erased)

I dont think Jerry will deny you any service you intend to pay for. Most times the logo stays anyway. ^^ I think it would be difficult, if not nearly impossible to pass off a user stripped knife as factory new. Would it still be considered factory new, even if busse refinished it, and logo'd it?

I believe you are wrong. For instance, I don't think Busse will put a logo on a knife modified by Ban even if you paid them. Work done by Ban voids the Busse Warranty so they would not want their name on a knife they would not back. But if you call them and can prove me wrong, I will openly admit that I am wrong.

I'm the friend Dave is referring too, I have a hhfsh I would like to strip. I just didn't want to lose the Busse logo, I'm a new fanboy I guess!

Almost positive the Busse logs are Laser etched. I have stripped my CGFBM and Meaner and both logs are still there.
The CGFBM has been pounded since I scored it a few years ago and it still says proudly, Busse Combat....when it is not filled with wood pulp.
Strip away...........

I did my HOGFSH last weekend, Mine was a custom shop one with the super thick green g10 scales, I removed the scales and sent the blade to busse for standard
micarta scales, works better on the .32" thick blade, anyway this winter i beat the hell out of it, so I decided to strip it.

I used the Birchwood Casey Presto Gun Blue Pen
http://www.midwayusa.com/viewProduct/?productNumber=178848

I scrubbed the logo area with soap and water, dried it then applied the gun blue.
I stripped it and the logo is nice and clear, the cool thing is under my coating the HOGFSH has a doublecut finish.
I will get you pictures tonight.

The etched logo survives stripping. I've stripped several Busses and could still see the logo.

Not all work done on INFI by people not employed by Busse voids the warranty in my experience. It depends on the level/amount of work and is of course at Jerry's discretion.

I would hope so, it'd be kind of silly if the nuclear tough warranty was voided because I sharpened or stripped the coating from my blade....

I was referring to the comment that Ban's work voids the warranty more than anything. I know stripping doesn't void it. I'd be in big trouble if it did.

Dan, your best off not assuming anything when it comes to the inner workings of Busse, believe me I know from personal experience.

My best advice is to steer all questions like this one to the company, that way no one gets upset.

I'm sorry but leatherman is 100% correct. If you have any questions to what is or is not covered please contact the shop for a direct answer.

Jerry has said in the past that if the mods did not cause or contribute to the failure, then you are covered.

I KNEW it was all Jaxx's fault!! :D Now its official!

ooh, Porkerson is a mod too, but its always been his fault especially my empty cheese fund . :p

Here she is, Busse is still there, barely! I like the way it looks so far, I think I will use the scotch bright a little more.
