So, I was thinking that I'd like new scales and a different coating on a Busse knife of mine. Who would I contact about that? I tried sending Garth an email, but got no response.

Anyone?

Tim

I would give Garth a few days. They probably just got back from Blade and are trying to get caught up. :)

I see... so a few months to reply to email is standard? Just want to set my expectations appropriately (being an amateur and all)... :p

Anyone have an idea of cost for scale replacement and a new blade coating by the way? I have no idea what to expect... (once again.. the whole 'amateur' thing...)

Honestly... I don't think too many of us are too sure. I would guesstimate that the rehandling may run around $60 and the recoating $50. But this is based on no prior experience or knowledge. They are always busy will military orders also, so sometimes calling may help you find what you need to know sooner.

they are normally very fast in responding to emails, a few days at the most.

blade had the shop a bit crazy. i have a few items waiting for some tlc.

I don't know, I have sent Garth several emails over the last two months and none have been answered. Both Jerry and Amy where quick to respond that Garth was the MAN to speak with. However, I have yet to hear back. I keep sending emails though!

I have sent many emails to Jerry, Garth, Customer Service, on and on, for 2 years. I have rarely received any response to them. Nor has anyone ever addressed it when I mention it on the phone. It no longer offends me, since they do answer the phones. Amy is the best piece of P.R. that Jerry could have invested in.

I too have dealt with the frustration. And that is because I fail to remember that they are working even harder on the needs of those fighting to keep our country and other's countries free by serving in their armed forces. I know that it sucks that sometimes and occasionally many times that our needs go unmet, but I am reassured by the fact that Jerry and employees are equipping the men and women of the armed forces and other fields.

I know that the argument could be stated that if they have opened orders to the public, that they should be filling their obligations to us as well, but I view it as a blessing that Jerry and company are sharing an amazing steel and wonderful memories with me and are trying their best to balance many, many tasks and succeed at doing so in a tactful, yet fun manner.

Anyway, I'll get off my soap box. I'm just rambling on and looking at things differently these days....

True that. :p Maybe it's my email titles?? :o

"Male Growth Without Hormones!"

"Get your credit rating NOW!"

"Ready to Refinance? We can help!"

"Barnyard Sex!!"

Well, actually, I got seven positive and immediate responses from Shop employees on the last title (and a phone call from the janitor.) I guess the last one piqued their interest! :p
