So a few weeks ago I finally received my TGLB, the wait was my own fault. I've been playing with it, mainly chopping some limbs in the yard, processing wood for the fire pit and all. I love it, it's still sharp enough to shave with and fortunately my lovely wife to be did not enforce a strict skin head style to let me get it!
I do have a question. When I first called Busse, they do not offer the TGLB without a choil. My knife has the tanker grey coat on it, is it possible to eliminate the choil and re-coat it? Do you guys know who could do the grinding? If this is sacrilidge, let me know. I own a swamp rat warden and the choil on that is merely a sharpening aid. I feel it might be a bit too pronounced on the TGLB. The finger forward grip would be useful if this was the only knife I had, but fortunately I usually have three on or around me so it's not vital. While it's not an issue that would cause me to part with it, I would like this TGLB to be firmly mine. I've seen the guard mods, but honestly I like the talon holes. Just would like to see a bit more of a slighter angle on the choil so that hang ups won't happen again. Any advice ladies and gentlemen?
