Busse Newbie Question

I dig knives. I use them daily, and in my line of work I have to stake my life on them.

I'm currently stationed in Lebanon, and I lost my EDC knife (Strider DB- 6 years old).

I've decided I want a Busse, and I want to see what all the fuss is.

I'm looking for a knife around 9" total OAL (or less) and thick with a double edge- the top edge can be partial (actually preferred), but we train with double edged knives now. I'm somewhat partial to tanto points, or modified tanto/clip points. I conceal it most of the time under a t-shirt, either on a Tek-Lok or IWB, and open carry it occasionally. I have to carry other gear on my waist, so I don't want a axe.

If anyone has a model in mind (a source would be nice too), please let me know. I was looking at the Nark, but having never held one, I don't know. I have a U.S. Military mailing address that forwards my mail to wherever I am at.

Sorry for the noob question, but I have to start somewhere, and any help would be appreciated.:D

i'm sure you will have tons of suggestions in a few minutes. there's several that come to mind and i'll try to find some pics.

any hogs out there have any ideas on this?

Welcome to the Busse forum, I'm glad that you stopped by.

A couple that come to mind are the PT5 and the Nark which you mentioned. However, you also may want to look into one of the older Badger Attacks (generation III, usually known as a BAIII) while it is not double edged it is a great all-purpose fixed blade, about the size you are looking for.

Thanks for the warm welcome, it's always nice to find hospitality in a new group.

Grrr. The power keeps on cutting in and out here in Bierut, which is making computer work difficult as the server keeps cutting in and out. At least the damn bombs have stopped dropping.
I will check out that link (good stuff from what little I saw) in the morning as it is 2300 here and I need to catch some sleep.
Thanks for the thread link and the suggestions. Now all I need to do is figure out which I want (the easy part) and find one (the hard part). Other suggestions are still welcome! - especially if there is a better way to find INFI than posting on the WTB here, as that seems like the best I have seen so far.

OK,

After browsing the knife "porn" I've decided that a "Nark" or a "Force One" looks to be what I am after. Now, were the runs large enough that I can actually find one or so small that I may as well give up hope?:o

Post a thread in the WTB section over at the exchange and see what come up. Probably your best bet these days.
