Morning everyone.

Been reading through he forums and you guys seems really open and helpful so I figured I'd post.

First off I will admit, I am a blade junkie and am always on the lookout for my next blade fix.

I currently have an $800 custom Nocturnal Knives DMFJ lost somewhere in the mail, have an American Kami M13 that will be done sometime in the next 30-45 days, ordered a Bawadimann/RMJ Ragnarok Colab hawk that will be here in July, a Kami Spike Hawk with no eta since he runs in batches, and I picked up a ZT0392. Now I'm looking for my next blade to order (hopefully as a present to myself if I land this new position).

I've known about Busse for some time, but I just recently learned about the custom side of the house. I'm currently leaning to their 30th Anniversary edition as my first and saw a few others in pictures on the page that I'm really interested in (number 23 on the images page is friggin amazing!)

One of the things I've been lusting after is one of the Busse Gladius'. Are these only available through the custom shop? I saw a couple available online but for $2700. Or do they only do small productions runs at various times?

I've seen a lot more models that people have on the forums, are these only available through the custom shop or have they been discontinued?

I'm sure I'll have more questions in time.

Welcome to the world of Busse. Just a heads up that all of your questions can be answered directly by Busse. They are some of the friendliest and most helpful people in the industry. Just be patient with them because they get super busy at different times of the year.

The knife you mentioned (#23) looks to be a Satin Jack Tac or SJTAC. It's a variant though not the standard version. You can do an image search to see more examples.

Busse has their current offerings directly through their website. If there is something not in standard production that you want, just email the custom shop. They MIGHT have blade blanks available to make you what you want. Otherwise you can do what most of us do and check the exchange here and fleabay like 50 times a day. And be quick when you see the knife you've been wanting.

Extra money! I've already spent or committed to 2K in knives this year and it's not even May! But like I tell my wife, I could be into worse things. Right now it gets split between the Jeep, my blades and firearms.

You will as Blade Runner said in the end statement kiss your money goodbye.....He and I and many others drop that 2k per Ganza and that would be like 3-4 times per year not counting what we grab on the exchange or special order....Your Credit Card will melt once you Taste INFI.....:eek::D

Gotta treat em like my guns, don't tell the wife what you really paid or what they are really worth. Luckily all I have to do is buy her one occasionally. I landed her a 777 and she loves that thing

Welcome to the Busse forum! In some ways it is best to buy Busse knives straight from the Busse website at http://busseknives.com – this way you can order any of the models shown with the finish and grips of your choice, and you do not have to worry about paying a markup like can happen in the secondary market. Having said that, like others I have bought most of my Busse knives through the For Sale forum here at BladeForums; whether here or elsewhere (especially eBay) just be careful and know what is a fair price. "Ganzas" as they are called are another way to get new Busse knives at factory prices – these are special sales Busse does thru this forum a few times a year or so. Usually the models available are very limited, so there is no guarantee of getting the one(s) you want.

The Gladius is sometimes available thru a ganza or a show (like Knob Creek). Unless you specifically want a satin finish Gladius, you could get a coated one much cheaper thru the BF exchange, a show, ganza or maybe the Custom Shop.

Jerry's business practice has been to produce a model for awhile and then discontinue it, occasionally with limited numbers being available later at shows or ganzas.

I don't have to worry about hiding cost of items since I don't have a wife...the women that know what I spend are the Lovely Lexi and Lovely Pokey at Busse and they just say "Awww Just get it"...:eek::D

My wife is normally like:
"I hate to see that look on your face, just go ahead and get it!"
 
So I def think I have decided on the Flying Mojo as my first. How long are the anniversary blades normally available? It may not be until Junish before I can place my order

Only Jerry knows for sure how long a knife will be available. Best bet would be to place order as soon as possible.
