I've never figured out what to put in my Regulator's pouch on the sheath. I tried a spare mag (glock). I tried a smaller knife. I even tried a mini wilderness/survival kit. But I just couldn't be satisfied with any one setup.

But I'm curious what yall have in your pouches?

If you can't post pics, that's ok. But as always pics are welcome and appreciated. :)

I put a firesteel and some PJcotonballs in mine. I strap a leatherman on the outside. No pics right now.

Leatherman in it's own pouch or just loose? Which leatherman?

I carry the Surge and there is no way a pound of steel is going to be left to flail about. With my luck it's hit me in the giggle berries and drop me like a rock.

I do it with the combat master and am sure I did it with the sheaths from the Yard. Supertool 200 (my favorite LM) in its own pouch. Run to flap of the knife sheath through to loops on the LM sheath and clip/Velcro down. I will try and get some pics up.

Here is what I always have in my pouch,
small flash light, small fire steel, small multi tool, razor blade, antibiotic ointment, tylenol, bandaids, fish hooks and line and sinker, 25ft of kevlar cord, wind proof matches, small button compass, and a signal mirror.

Never took pics, but for a couple excursions into the mountains I've put a little Boker Rhino in the pouch on my CGFBM sheath. Pretty decent fit and quick and easy access for when I needed a smaller blade.

Dave is right on with the tin idea though if you're looking for a more survival oriented setup...

I never really planned on the pouch for a specific purpose so I had to go see what I had in it. Most of them were empty but the one I found with something in it contained a flint and steel fire starter. Says Bic on the side of it. Next to the fire starter was an emergeny cigar. You never can be to careful.

I am not surprised. You must be a graduate of the Jerry Busse school of survival. Although I am surprised there is not a small vial or flask of hi test alcohol in there too. HaHa

The booze required a larger area so that is in the backpack.

I ran a similar thread a few weeks ago, you should be able to still find it here.

That said, I'm running SpecOps w/ my NMSFNO and TankBuster. In the pouches I've got a fire steel, small stainless non-coated folder (SAK or Outdoor Edge Blaze) and/or a multigadget (whistle, compass, light, etc.). I think they'd be good enough for overnighting in a less than idea situation...meaning if you lost or didn't bring any other gear, you could set up some form of shelter and get a fire going until the next day. If I am planning on being out longer than an hour or two, I take along my versipak that has more gear. But I think my kits put together a pretty good arrangement when matched with other appropriate gear. I'm comfident I'm pretty darn well equipped in the cutting tool department, either as a stand alone short outing rig, or matched with more gear for an extended excursion.

Thanks for the pic River...

I can make out some things but I see a bunch of tubes...what is all of that?

Thanks

Looks to be a diamond rod, a sewing kit from pvc tubing, piece of fatwood, ferro rod & striker, 6 nails, marbles matchbox, hank of paracord, a few zipties, & an unknown red tube (probably water filtration device) in long attached pouch.

Oh, & edited to add: an attached cord kit in precut lengths. :D Nice to the point kit River-8! Reminds me of a few I've set up identical!

Thanks; there are actually two oranges pouches clipped to the sheath, one is a Day/Night flare, the other (behind) a Wilderness Arial Flare - both primarily for SAR Air Ops.

The PVC sewing container is because nothing else I could figure out could easily contain that "S" shaped needle (from Tandy Leather), that bad boy goes through anything!
