Busse Price Checks? Anorexic Badger and Badger Attack III

Hey there! New to the forum and trying to figure out the value of a couple Busse knives I have and am considering selling. Would really appreciate some guidance!

First I have an Anorexic Badger Attack in Desert Tan from the Custom Shop. Purchased through the forum I believe back in 2003 and never used. Comes in the cardboard it was shipped in lol. Anorexic Badger Link

Next I have a Badger Attack III that has been used, includes the sheath that it came with. Purchased a little bit before the Anorexic Badger. Badger Attack III Link

There was a time when these were very very pricey.

Both are really nice knives I would love to own either of them.

Honest value I would put on them ?

Not 100% sure ?

The BA anorexic maybe 300.00 to 600.00 ?

I love thin Busse's

It is in really nice shape. and that coating is hard to keep that way.
Me personally the "fuzzy" brown coating is my least favorite.

The user BA III about 300.00 to 450.00 maybe a little more ? ?

the snake skin is one of the most desirable handles.
The original sheath adds a little value , but not much.
Even though "all Busse's are users" the coating and use will take away from the collector value This is more I really want one factor.

I agree with Dave. There was a time when these would have pulled big money. But most of the OG crew have drifted off, and the new kids don't have the same gut reaction to these. Times change. <insert retrogrouch sigh>

I would be all over that ABA if it was a clip point, but right now holding $$ for the next Carothers drop.

The BAIII is curious because it has the asymmetric edge. Not sure if that is typical. There are some odd folk that might appreciate that.

Best of luck with your sale. Start on the higher side, you can always come down. Make sure you read all the rules on the Sale forum.
 
Assigning prices to knives this old, with few if any recent sales, is hard to do. I pretty much agree with what David said, although I would put the Anorexic BA in the $450-$600 range, because it is so pristine. I like the tan/brown blade finish - it has a slight gritty feel to it. The snakeskin definitely adds to the value of the used one. The BA3 handle is super comfy (it's the same handle as on the Satin Jack) - it's one of my favorite Busse handles!

I found an old post from Jerry saying the last day the BA3 could be ordered was 6/4/2003. Those are some nice knives!
 
That BA III used to bring in around $700 but now, in it's used condition I'd say $400-$475 maybe.
