I would like to add this Busse to my Busse collection but want to know if anyone out there has used this knife for camping/hunting or anything else?
If not this one is there any other Busse youd recommend in this size???
Im looking to use it when Im out hunting, camping, hiking etc...
Any feedback would be greatful..........

Hmmmm....

The person that should probably be responding to this one is KAAK...he uses his for about everything and loves it! Unfortunately, he's been mostly off-line lately. :(

thanks for your help
I really thought id get alot of feedback on this knife maybe its just not meant for that type of use......

Daniel,
The Public Defender can handle those chores but I think there are probably other small Busses that are better suited to the type of work you have listed. If you want the Public Defender I'd suggest getting one of the Desert or Jungle Defenders as they were ground thinner than the original Public Defender (at least the one's I've seen and held)

I would also suggest you look at any of the Badger Attack III's, or Active Duties. Those knives were specifically designed to be a camping/hunting/utility knife.

I hope that helps

:D:D

If you want a Public Defender configuration but plan to use it as a slicer for camping, hunting, etc., then what you want is the Jungle Defender. These have a thin hollow grind and mine is one of the two sharpest Busses I have. (along with the Active Duty, which is the best small Busse ever made)

No, it's not for sale.:D

I believe the Urban Defender was hollow ground as well? Not sure either. :o I had one of the Jungle Defenders and it indeed was a sharp son of a gun! :D I have one of the standard PD's right now, its been converted to convex grind which has improved its slicing ability greatly.

Eric's suggestions are great, and the AD's are new enough to be a lot easier to get a hold of right now. Also, the Leaner Meaner Street would be a good choice and has come out rather recently (that is a relative term) ;)

For that range of size, I find the BAIII (Badger Attack III), to be the most useful overall for camping and hunting.

My Jungle Defender is a safe queen, I agree with Eric and MikeH, the hollow grind makes it a great slicer, and the tip, well you have to expeience it, its armor piercing to say the least.

My favorite is still the Leaner Meaner Street (Dwayne's recommendation), its a great all around blade. It was my first Busse, and my EDC.
