Hello all you Busse freaks!

I'm hooked! Have to have a Busse! Gonna buy direct from Busse Combat too! Mr. and Mrs. Busse you all are too cool:cool: What you did for Mike H. and his family brought tears to my eyes. Anyway, my questions for you sickies :p that have 30-40 Busses are:

1. Zero Tolerence means "normal edge" vs. the assymetrical edge right? Which is better and why?

2. Straight handle or the E-handle if you have used both for serious work is one better than the other? Or is it simply a matter of asthetics? I read a thread on this just a couple of days ago but can't find it anywhere  Something about the E-handle putting the knife in a better position for chopping and thrusts.

3. I'm leaning more towards the SH w/satin finish unless someone tells me the crinkle coat is better for blade endurance and wear. The BM seems to big, but if someone really thinks it is better I'd love to hear why.

How will I be using this awesome tool? Glad you asked. I'm not a martial artist and don't know the first thing about knife fighting. "If it bleeds we can kill it." I love the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing, backpacking and the like.

Thank you in advance, BTW I enjoy all the awesome pics and good info I've learned

Regards

TM,
Welcome to the Busse Forum, glad you stopped by. :D:D

1) Here's how Jerry Busse describes the Busse Zero Tolerance edge "I define a "zero edge" as an edge that has been blended into the primary bevel of the blade and therefore has no definite, visible beginning. It is not simply a convex edge."

Which is better, it depends on your preferences to some degree however the Asymmetrical edge as proven to be very durable and useful.

2)Some like the E handle some like the Straight Handle. For heavy use get the E handle you won't be disappointed.

3) Steel Heart-e with satin finish you can't really go wrong. However, you might want to consider buying the regular CG model and using/abusing it for a while then when the coating gets worn send it in for a refurbish and have it Satin Finished. This way you get some use with the coating(which is extremely durable) and you also get your knife sooner. :D:D

Good luck in deciding and be sure to let us know which one you choose. :D:D

Ditto on Eric's response.

The Steel Heart is a great "starter" Busse. It won't be your last.

Welcome Toxic! Tucson? You poor soul, too hot for
me! Careful with the Infi it's very addictive ask
Eric I. :D

Welcome to the Busse Forum ToxMedic1!

My vote goes to the ergo Steel Heart. It really feels more comfortable in the long run.
The coating is tough as nails but will gain character with use;)

....and the coating is actually a little more corrossion resistant than the satin finish. Non reflective as well for those "night missions"!

I ditto Eric's comments as well. The Steel Heart is the one to get, especially as a first one. For a "user" the assymetric edge has proven itself to be very servicable and durable int he field. Also, as stated, the black crinkle finish is more corrosion resistant and will not give you away. For a safe queen, the Satin finish is nicer to look at and the ZTs are rarer and therefore more "collectable."

Get a SH/E black coated user and you will not be sorry.

Thanks for the info! The SH-E w/crinkle coat and asymmetrical edge will be my first Busse! I'll be calling Busse Combat on Monday to see what the wait is. 6-8 wks would be perfect, so I can recover from the holidays. Thanks again for the help and for making me feel so welcome! Merry Christmas to all and to all a great New Year!

Scott.
