Well, I have called the Busse shop twice and spoke to Amy, she very nice BTW, sent Garth two e mails, and sent a PM to Amy as well. I have not got an answer as to what is will cost to have my FFBM refinished with the black coating they use. I bought it on here and it was stripped. I want it refinished and sharpened but I am unsure of cost and time frame.

I am sure Garth is a busy man and thats why he hasnt got back to me, but I really want this taken care of so I dont have any rust issues. I have been keeping it oiled, but I am going to Alaska in a month or so and was hoping this would be done before then.

Has anyone here sent thier knife in for this work? What did it cost and what was the turn around time? Thanks in advance

You should not really have too bad of rust issues with stripped infi. I don't typically oil my infi at all. Do you have a picture.

by the way, I love stripped infi. I plan on stripping my two coated ones.

Here is my little collection that I have obtained in the past few weeks. I got bit by the infi bug. The sarsquatch was traded for a CG ASH though. Sorry BTW, my camera sucks.

FWIW, I haven't had any issues with rust. I live in Southeast Alaska, where it rains constantly. The corrosive ocean water is within spitting distance of my bedroom window. I would think if rust were going to be a problem it would have started already. This is across the street from my house.

Just take care of your stuff and you'll be good to go. Where in AK are you going?

Anchorage to start off with, then we are going on a hunt, but its supossed to be a suprise so she wont tell me where. While we are there we will be looking for a home, I want to move there so bad.

JH,
Where ya at, Petersburg??? Been all over SE but don't remember that view. Use to live down on POW Island.

Damn, good guess!! I live right across the street from the South Boat Harbor. That is Devils Thumb in the center of the photo.

If everything goes well, I plan to run the POW Marathon this year. Good stuff!!

Congrats Bro and welcome to our deep freeze. Been a little harsh of late but hey it's Alaska. It's -18"F right now on my porch.

Infi back to the shop: Might take a little longer than your needed time frame. With the holidays and projects ahead of ya I hate to say it but there it is. I had some stuff redone and it was about 6 weeks. But like posted before, uncoated INFI, don't worry about it. a little WD and a scotch bright will clean-r up in NO time. Also, for your info the himidity up here right now is LOW. If you are coming to the Anchorage area, shoot no problems. PM me and if I can between my weeks on/off schedule maybe I can show ya around some.

2-Tap, check your PM Bro.

I've sent stuff to Garth and Amy before (email) that didn't get replied to so I guess sometimes things get lost in the shuffle. Maybe send more emails or call and mention the emails that didn't get a response?
