After some careful eyeballing of a couple of knives, I've come to believe that I'm seeing a few Rockwell hardness testing dimples on a couple of my knives.
My guess is that it's done from batch to batch, to make sure all is kosher with the heat treatment.
Has anyone else noticed any secret dimples lying around? ;)

I did notice a long line of "dimples" running up the side of a Rodent Waki that someone had stripped the finish off of.
I couldn't say if it was done to every single blade Busse makes though.

From what I've read elsewhere, it's generally done only once per blade, of course Jerry's method could be different.
They're very small, and it looks like (to me) someone hit a nail into the steel
pic incoming.

I really like INFI dimples. Unfortunatly I haven't stripped any saber cut blades yet...... I did strip a CG ASH-1, but it didn't have any. It looked like it had been bead blasted before it was coated. Kinda weird, but it looked pretty nice none the less.

What I was seeing was a very well defined dot next to the word Zero on an user ZTSH that I have. It's also the only dot in the middle of an area that is well polished.

The knife you have is likely a fake.

As the official expert on ZTSH dimpling. I suggest you send it to me immediately for verification.

There were several fakes made from Packistani-infi (more chromium, no cobalt, with helium infusion). Also important... send 12 year balvenie as my fee. ;)
