I've gotten to the point where I prefer to just do cord wraps on my knife handles, for the sake of easy replacement or removal in the field amongst other things. Is it possible to order knives without handles, just a bare tang that you can wrap or handle yourself?

skeleton key, skeleton warden, assault shaker, pure bred fighter series and those ones designed with no handles yes, but the ones that come with scales I have never seen them offered without.

But you can always call the shop and get info direct from Busse rather than ask a bunch of folks that do not work there :)

We would all just have to speculate.

They are very good at answering the phone, and talking to the nice ladies is always.............nice :)

Dave took the post right outta my fingers!!! :D
+1 on the Pure Bread fighter, Assault Shaker, and calling the ladies at the Busse shop!!!

Busse gives us more options than just about any other production company out there. They can't please everyone all the time.

I know the ladies in the shop would get this answered for me, just figured I'd ask here thinking I might not have been the first to wonder this and it's been asked already. After all, there may be others who have similar ideas and would benefit from the discussion here.

I certainly agree, but they have most definitely made an effort to cater to most on reasonable requests.

The amount of money you would save would be nominal. Just drill em out and save the slabs. You might change your mind down the road.

I have asked - within the last two weeks - if I could get my Busse without the scales attached. The answer was "no".

+ 1 on this. I've done ripe wrapped handles and I've also use screw's to attach/detach handle slabs. In fact, I'm about to replace my tb slabs with rope. I'll try to post pics when it's done. It's always nice to be able to put the original handles back on.
