G'day guys!

I finished this leather sheath today and I wanted to show it here to get some feedback, especially critiques or area to improve. The finish is Fiebing's light brown (center&sides are black) with a flat top coat. Pics:

Thanks for looking!

That's some great looking work.....it compliments the knife very well.
I had to look close to see that was not an inlay......and the fit at the top (opening) of the sheath is great looking, really like that.

Beautiful!

Nice contrast and colors. Overall very nice workmanship, too. I saw the pic of your homemade stamps in the Busse forum. That makes it just that much better.

Looks good to me! :) The pattern is unique, I like it.

Well, not THAT unique, Dwayne. I have one of your sheath, and I must say the simplicity and effectiveness of your "standard" pattern inspired me...a lot. thanks for dropping in

I like it a lot, it makes a really classy looking rig and with the double stitching and thickness of the welt it looks like it's going to last a long long time.

Two things did come to mind when first looking at the pictures. One was that you chose not to back stitch on the four ends and the second was curiosity why the horizontal loop on the back was not centered more (does it balance horizontal on a belt or is it for a thigh strap or shoulder rig carry?).

Thanks man! Really appreciate your feedback

1. back-stitching: not sure I understand; I started the stich on the left side (first picture), finished on the right side with 3 or 4 back stich. Maybe it's the pics?

2. I centered the horizontal loop by eye to something that looke "balanced" to me. I see what you mean; that is something I'll try to improve on my next one...good catch

Anyway, thanks again for looking and taking the time to comment!!!

Thought it might have been the pics and I just couldn't see the back stitch.

Maybe RAMM meant centered vertically (?), I know I thought that myself...why so close to the tip?

Thank you! :D

My eye is drawn to the stamping, the border is out of the ordinary. Thinking outside the box, its a good thing. :)

Oh I see! It's to accept a leg strap if so desired, hence its position. Thanks!

Yes that was the question. I guessed that might be the case.

Next time you might want to consider a small second cross strap on the upper 1/4 so the sheath could be worn horizontally in the Dozier guide style.

Each time I look at the sheath, edges-stamping-handle fit detail-laces, the quality you built into it stands out even more.
