Just got my hands on an original Steel Heart Ergo - it reminded me what first drew my interest to the Hog line in the first place...this, and the Battle Mistress :cool:

I am wondering...what it might look like, and handle, with...a satin finish...a full convex grind...and some updated, dress Micarta slabs? :eek:

If you have a SHe you've had "dressed out" to suit your taste, post up a picture...

THe nicest you will ever see belongs to ronybear. I did a quick search but no luck. He might be along to show you soon.:cool:

It has an engraved bolster and mammoth scales I believe. :thumbup:
 
It sounds like you'd be better off selling it to me (cheap ;)) and ordering a custom :D

Ronybear's is the nicest SHe that I've ever seen, I don't know what it would take to top that one
 
Doesn't hold a candle to RonnyBears, but here's a tan/satin SH-E with a factory zero edge.

The smudge came from a strap snap on the sheath it was shipped in:(

Good input - from the two I've seen, I'm probably looking to go somewhere in between.

R-bear's way too fancy (I'd want to put it in a display case on the wall and N E V E R use it).

Jonesey's is closer to what I'd be lookin for...with a higher grade finish and stepped up handle slabs.

I'd bet Garth and his crew could "handle that" without too much sweat, dont'cha think?
 
Hi gents! Don't post very often, but thought you might like to see this rather extreme mod I did to a SH-e. Stripped, convexed and converted into a hidden tang.

The coated BAe I hear is now stripped as well. :) I cant count how many E handles I have removed the coating and blasted, but the usability goes way up. I still have the SHe, butt grind NOe, and BAe. Those are my keepers.
 
Hey diavoli.....that's smokin bro. Nice!

The Ergo lineup was really one of the Busses that I did not appreciate until I held them. I still think that the NO-e and the BA-e are 2 of the best workhorse campers a guy could ask for.

You could add teeth to your Steel Heart-e and turn it into a Terror Monkey. I might have some other pictures that might show other Ergo variants. I believe The Bully (Eric I) was into Ergo Variants for awhile. You could do a Search in the Pic Only Thread with Eric's name and see what turns up.
 
I think that one of ronybear's may have been a custom originally commissioned by Tony Palmieri in Arizona and was, without a doubt, the nicest SHE ever. I hope Ron will join in here and share a pic--don't see anything in the archives.
