How do you sharpen the Busse Skinney Ash? Do you use a stone or treat it like a convex edge?

You sharpen it just like you would any other large knife. Any of the standard sharpeners and techniques will work. The factory edge is not convex, so you would have to convex it yourself first if you wanted to treat it as such. INFI is remarkably easy to sharpen- good stuff.

:edit: Did the skinny ASHes ship convex? I don't have one, but my three other ASH-1s all have microbevels.

My skinny ASH is convex. My ASH LE has a bevel. They are both easy to sharpen, but I like the convex much better.

The ASH-1: SE-07, CG, LE & HOG all came with a flat primary grind; Skinny came with a convex primary grind; ALL came with a standard "V" edge grind. I'm sure that someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but the only blades to come from Busse with a convexed edge, at least recently, are the SAR 4s.

NMFBMLE, NMSFNOLE, HG55LE, SAR4LE all come with fully convexed edges

dobywon,
Thanks for the info. I got the CG versions of the NMFBM & NMSFNO, didn't get an HG55 and one each of the SAR 4s. Nice to know that the extra $ for the LE includes a convex edge, at least on Jerry's more recent releases.

I gave my Skinny a full convex grind. It's a slicing, slashing, chopping machine.
