Busse SOB or something else

So I'm looking for something smaller than my RMD/511/S5LE, but not too small as I have big hands. The Combat Grade SOB is sitting there whispering my name but it's a lot of money per pound of blade. Would love to hear any thoughts on pros and cons of this blade, or alternative options in the Bussekin family (given that I'm not overly keen on the look of the Rodent 3/4 handles). I've owned a SYKCO SS4 in the past and found the handle to blade ratio uncomfortable, and I am pretty sure the Vex would be too small all over.

And obviously if I'm going to go ahead with the SOB I need to move fast before it disappears.

Thanks.

Hey mate....who are you kidding;)..... Sounds to me like your decision has already been taken. The SOB fits all of your criterias. Got one, and I love it. Handle is fine for me, but I've got medium to small hands. I think that the hump in the handle would be good for larger hands..... Go for it. My 2 cents.

I have a CG SOB on order so I cannot give you hands on perspective, but a Rodent Solution if you can find one is a mighty fine blade.

If you're coming up I can let you fondle my CF SOB so you can get the feel for handle and proportions.

CG SOB all the way. I have a few of the earlier comp finished models and if I didn't have those, I'd jump on the CG version available now. It's still INFI, only a coated blade so the performance can get no better. Also, I prefer the design of the original SOB blade and handle as opposed to the later versions that had trailing points and finger grooves. The current CG is the preferred original design so another reason it's a good option.

If you're looking for a bit smaller blade than your Du and you have big hands the SOB is exactly what you should get. The handle feels much more substantial on the SOB than the Du. INFI is not the cheapest material out there by the pound, but I have always been a subscriber of buying high quality items and having them last a lifetime.

Thanks guys. I like the look of the Rodent Solution as well. Might have to get both. :)

So I pulled the trigger late last night my time. Desert sage blade, tan canvas micarta handle to match my TGLB and RMD. Now the waiting. :)

You done good mate!

Something about that knife...... Great handle, love the belly on that blade..... Sturdy little (not so little, you'll see) beast. Nearly ideal for all around backpacking! Love it!
