Hey guys, I was stripping a ratweiler and was curious how to remove the dark primer under the actual coating. Do I just sand till its shiney or do I use another chemical? So far I've removed most of the coating with klean strip spray, (nasty shit had my fingers tingling):foot: but was just curious what the next step might be towards a satin finish. Thanks for any help! :D

Sounds like decarb, you have to sand it off. Either by hand or with the aid of a sander.
I prefer a orbital sander, makes quick work of it.
I know Resinguy prefers scotchbrite wheels if I remember correctly

Haha just finished stripping (middle of clean up atm) I'll have pics up in a sec, and the decarb look is kinda cool but Im down put a little elbow grease to make this baby shine :p. Thanks rbc2000 for clarifying!

Yeah it looks cool right after you rinse it, kind of parkerized, unfortunately it will rust quickly.
I usually go 220, 400, 600, 800, then higher if you want, finish with Mothers Mag polish, and you'll have a good lookin user.
Make sure to post pics!

You can leave it, but you'll have to oil it each time you take it out. A dremel with a rough pad will take care of it, though. Just depends on how pretty you want to make it.

Like the others have mentioned, scotch brite works well. I used my dremel at lower speeds to get in hard to reach spots on the TG I stripped.
