So whats the difference in these 3 companies?? I look at Swamprats web site and its owned by some chick with the last name Busse. I go to Scrapyards web site and it says dont call Busse knifes or we could loose our contract and we wont sell to you. Im new at this blade thing and Im curious to what the relationships are and the difference in the quality or manufacturing of these 3 knife companies. Their seems to be a huge price gap from Scrapyard to Busse. Is there a big difference in the quality or abuse handling of the 3. Thanks for the help

Welcome to the forums:). All are under the Busse umbrella, made at different price ranges to cater to different budgets. Are the more expensive Busse lines worth the extra dough? According to any hard core knife user that's put them to the test, absolutely. Here's an interesting website that purposefully tries to break various knives and Scrap Yard and Busse are in there:
http://knifetests.com/

Busse Combat - Owned by Jerry Busse, Original Company, top line you could say
Swamp Rat - Owned by Jennifer Busse (Wife), Good stuff, just below Busse Combat
Scrap Yard - Owned by Dan Busse (Jerry's Brother), used a mix of steels from the above companies, least expensive line usually

all 3 make arguably the toughest knives out there and they all have the same no questions asked,no BS,lifetime warranty.

i find the busse kin designs to be a level ahead of the rest.i really can say enough about the stuff they make.i keep finding myself selling off my other knives to buy more busse kin blades and at the end of the day the reason is because they're better.

All one happy family!
Busse-INFI steel (Best)
Swamp Rat-mainly SR-101 steel (Great)
Scrapyard-mainly SR-77 (Best Value)

all lifetime warranty, all secret/tight lipped manufacturing, all not easy to get, all will outlast you and yours! ;)

I have had a couple of Busse knives the only one I kept was my FBM. The others I swaped for something else. Nothing wrong with them, we just didn't connect. I have never had any of the Swamp Rats but I would love a Folder!!! I Really have a liking for the ScrapYard line though I may be wrong?? They seem to be far harder to come by. I have had my SY Scapper 6 for a long time and it is a Beast of a Utility/Camp knife. If you have the $$$$ to get any of em, I bet my bottom dollar you'll be Very Happy!!!!
