Ime looking to get into some higher end fixed blade knives for all around use. And I can't really decide between the busse TGLB and the Chris reeve green beret. Any recommendations, it will be a user ime out in the woods a lot I probably won't need the knife to stand up to heavy abuse but I would still like it to be able to anyways. Any thing will be helpful.
Thanks,

They are both great knives - but great in different ways. As a fan and owner of Busse as well as Chris Reeves knives, though not the exact models of which your thread is directed, I can say that both are at the pinnacle of production knives. That said, for abuse, I would go with Busse. If that consideration were not foremost in your criteria, the GB would be an excellent choice. Did I mention that it is hard to go wrong with either for they are both great knives with great people behind them.

Get the TGLB and I doubt you will regret it, if by some chance it's not what you like you can re-sell it here for a little less than you paid and try something else. That is one of the nice perks of Busse products, they are often very safe investments.

For hard use and abuse Busse all day long. That CRK model is certainly nice looking though, and it does come with a sheath. With your Busse you'll have
to find an after market sheath. Just something to consider.

I also agree that Busse's really maintain their value well around here in case you don't like it.

Also if you get the CRK I believe you will be stuck with a combo edge. When I first started collecting I liked combo edges because even if the primary edge
was dull you could saw through stuff, but once you get more into collecting, and learn how to sharpen your knives you'll likely begin to avoid combo edges.

Best of luck.

I've had both, for a all around woods/combat knife the Busse excels it has excellent balance and enough weight to chop with, very tough as well as comfortable. The Chris Reeves green beret is an excellent knife as well, just aimed at more of a combat bias than woods. It will chop and do anything you need in the woods too, just with a bit more effort than the TGLB.
