i have a beautiful custom busse but im afraid to take it in the field not because of the infi steel but the handle scales. Has anyone had experience with sending a busse for handle repair.

Short of obvious abuse or modification, you are covered under the best knife warranty available.

Jerry has caught someone red handed shooting their Busse Knife with a gun..the blade held up, the handle took damage. Jerry covered it...when Jerry says he stands behind his blades..he f-ing means it. You got nothing to worry about...ever!

The only problem I can see if it's custom handled would be the delicate Mammoth Tooth which is more ornamental than practical. Should the material fail same exact replacement may not be available.

i will get pics soon but this would be the issue. its in perfect condition and i don't want to ruin it.

I PMd Jerry about a Blade with Broken Tip I considered buying, He said If I get it, Send it in, "We"ll Make Her Pretty for You, No Charge"

I think you should call the shop on the warranty info on those scales.

Just buy a non-custom version of the one you have? Either way you'll never have a problem unless the material isn't available?

i am looking but its hard to find spastic models. and that melt down tech i want on my field knife. what i have is a Busse Custom Shop Boss Street that Roenman sold me. i fell in love with the blade design for my next hunter but the handle makes it a show peace i still love it but i still need a hunter.

If you use it like a hunting knife is meant to be used (only cut meat, hair and hide), you'll never need the warranty. :) I wouldn't baton, pry, or beat on ANY knife with mammoth scales, but normal use should be fine.

What he said. Gorgeous knife by the way, nice grab!
I would say use it, but don't go banging on the mammoth with a baton.

Thats the one i thought U were talking about, really beautiful, i missed that one by a Hair.

95%+ of my knives are users. That being said I don't make blades with mammoth scales users. Busse would certainly take care of you if you had an issue, but it would never look the same again because the material used on your scales is unique to your scales.

Dude, if you feel that way then don't use it. You can always snag a standard version on the exchange and beat on that one; there are plenty of hogs here who keep both users and non-users it's all good.
