What kind of Busse's have seen hard military use, and how did they hold up???

I used a Busse Steelheart S/H for about 5 months at the end of my tour, being on a LRSU Team (long range survalance unit) I really put it to task, it held up completly with a zero fail rate!!! great gear!!!

There is an Air Force LE type that carries a #9 (and other cool blades). I wonder if he'd share some exploits from his latest trip?

Actually I ran out of room and left the #9 at home. For fixed blades I took a Livesay Woo and Air Assault and the Rinaldi Warhawk.

While I really like the Warhawk somehow I chipped/broke the tip. The tip is way to pointy/narrow for general abuse/misuse. Also has some problems with the sheath. One of these days I'm going to send it back to Trace and see how he can fix the sheath and re profile the blade a tad.

I'm now seriously thinking about getting either a Strider BT or WB with Green Cord Wrap handle and Tiger Stripe. Or possibly some kind of 6-7 inch Busse. Don't know enough about Busse to make a informed choice yet. Besides I've got to sell a Randall #1 to afford the next knife.

Although I did not use the Busse during my military time (1982 - 1991) I have used it in a similar fashion. I received the SteelHeart E several months back and have since taken it to the woods several times. As the owener of Simply Survival, author of several books on Global Survival Skills, and former USAF Survival Instructor... I can say, I was and am impressed with the SteelHeart. I am a hard user. I have showed it to my friends (yes, I do have friends) that are still active duty USAF Survival Instructors and they are very interested in this knife. Two of them work for me (they take leave).

In my business, I use a knife the same way I did when I was a militray member... I use it hard... I am a user....

The Busse knife is -- without exception -- the best knife I have ever handled... After my friends have a chance to field test them... I'll have them post on this forum.

Best to all,

Greg
