Busse's INFI: How does it stand up to corrosion?

I just read on the "Randall Price" thread that one person only looked at Busse after he purchased a Randall...that says a lot...
I too am looking to buy a Busse (as soon as I can get the money and sell a Mad Dog...)
How does the INFI steel hold up to corrosion i.e. saltwater, oil, deet, etc...?
Thanks
Jess

I live in SE Asia, and it stands up well in the jungle. After chopping through large amounts of dense vegetation (WET dense vegetation), there is little corrosion. Just some tiny rust spots here and there if you leave it wet in the sheath overnight. If you wipe it down and dry it before retiring for the night, than its fine. However, it does stain a little from plant juices and stuff. Great thing is if looks are important to you, it polishes to a great shine using Autosol or some other metal polish. Hope this helps.

Pang

Crowinghorse, nice to see you here again. Seahawk is right, Cliff did a fantasic review of both a Busse Battle Mistress (pure INFI) and a Basics #7 (modified INFI and the knife I own). He includes corrosion tests as well as handle reaction to DEET and oil. I think his site will answer any of your questions. Personally, I like my Busse #7 so much I'm getting a #5 for hikes or day trips and I'd like to get a Steal Heart one day. If you buy a Busse, you will get bitten!

Horse, no more happy dog dance? I thought your were madly and passionately in love with the Shrike - what happened? I can understand there is a major price difference to take into account, but you seemed determined. I am looking to buy a Busse myself, I think you will find Cliff's review will answer most of your questions. Sounds like the INFI is better than many of the other non stainless steels for corrosion. Check out the Fallkniven A1 review at Cliff's also, it does really well for stainless and it is a bargain - I couldn't be happier with mine.
