Busse''s on FS Forum? WTF

Why are there always so many Busse's on the FS Forum?
Do people buy them only hoping to make a profit on a resale?
Are people actually making profits on them?
Do people just buy them cuz they are Busse's then they don't like them when they arrive?
I can't understand it.
Inquiring minds want to know.

Visit the Busse forum here at BF. You will notice lots of die hard fans of Busse (just like Strider has).

Many of their collections contain mostly Busses (mine included), and lots of times they will have several versions of the same model. So, when time comes they need some extra cash, or they recently acquired a different model they prefer, others must go.

That, combined with the new line coming out (and the folder :rolleyes: LOL!) many are selling off ones that aren't in use or 'safe queens'.

Oh, almost forgot, this is the post-christmas time of year, and many people have bills racked up so some toys must go :grumpy:
 
Busse knives are a commodity. If you have a Busse in new condition it's worth AT LEAST what you bought it for from the shop. If it's a discontinued knife it's worth more than what you bought it for, sometimes hundreds more. They are nice knives from a good company that stands behind their product. Oh, and they are really cool.:)
 
What Mogmz says. With me it's Christmas bills catching up. Last year I was buying, this year...:( He is right about the extras or safe queens. However my users and EDC knives aren't going anywhere. I really love em and no I'm not a mall ninja they're just that good.

What Matteo said. Busses are kinda like Randalls, in that they have sort of a cult following, and that you will never be stuck with one if you dont want it. Somebody will always buy a Randall or a Busse.
 
Believe me, I know Busses are great knives.
I have a Steel Heart E that I would never part with.
It's edge holding is nothing short of amazing!
I truly believe it would survive a nuclear blast.
Can't wait for the Busse Folder;)
 
The same thing seems to have happened with Strider SNGs on the "other" forum....once the AR came out, lots of folks seemed to have SNGs up for sale.

When you have a knife habit that costs hundreds/knife, then some buying/selling is going to be inevitable.

Feel the same, only mine is a SHSH. EDC is a SHBA. Largest Busse I can comfortably carry concealed. BTW, love your avatar. We just started getting that strip down here.

I can't say for certain, but I'll bet those SnG's hitting the exchange were extras or safe queens sold to fund new purchases. Perhaps not. I've gotten rid of a couple of Busses that just didn't 'fit' me right. But that was just me and my hand. Others, like the SHBA fit like a glove. :D

I think the real reason is that Busse's only have a shelf life of a couple years or so, before they start to go stale. Hence the massive unloading to help pay bills, and fund the purchase of newer, fresher Busses.
