Busses used for dive knives

Hi there. I was wondering if a person had like an Ash-1 variant or smaller, would it survive use as a dive knife. Would the infi hold up to salt water? If it would hold up would you suggest the combat grade or the limited edition version of a knife? Please keep in mind I currently don't own a Busse yet, so it is like a newbe asking a question. Thank you.

Even if you rinsed it off after every dive, it'd probably rust like a mofo where salt water got under the scales. And you'd be out some $$$$$$$ if you lost it.

really this is one of the only jobs (plus other water related jobs) that busse wouldn't do well in... i have seen dive knives fo like $30 that should hold up and you dont need to worry about loosing it... but other than a diver Busse's the best :)

I had a thread on this...called INFI dive knife...got a lot of good responses...and the consensus from those who had tried INFI for diving was that Busses work fine for diving, just wipe and oil your blade after you swim, and attach the sucker to yourself so you don't lose your $300 knife.

Edit:: Here's my thread on the same subject: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=549573

This was discussed a few weeks ago but I can't find the thread, hopefully someone else can find it. It seemed that the consensus was that a Busse could handle the saltwater but it would need to be cared for. This was a wipedown and rinse in freshwater after the dive. Coating on the blade and having either skelly handles or G10 would be preferable. The Scotch Dispenser was mentioned as a good candidate but I disagree. I think the awkward blade shape and the finger loop would not add to the knife in this situation. I think gripping the knife would be difficult especially with gloves on. IMO the Scrofa would be the best Busse for diving but I dont plan on using mine underwater.

My dive knife is a Benchmade H2O dive knife and I love it. It has all the aspects that I think a dive knife should have...Non-pointy blade, partial serrations, corrosion resistant, bright handle and a sheath with good retention.

I hope this makes sense and if not blame it on the alcohol.

EDIT: I guess I took to long to respond.
