Should be a well attended show. Hopefully weather will cooperate!!!

hey m, any kuks, swords or b8 going to make the drive with you?

Got a question about the show in Columbus. I read the "rules" about guns having to be unloaded, ammo left in car, etc., etc., etc. Does this apply to ALL guns or just those guns people are taking to sell? The reason I ask, I have an Ohio CHL and I carry where ever it is legal to do so. And I DO NOT go places and spend my money where I cannot carry. The only exception is the rare occasion I HAVE to go to the post office and then I must leave my gun at home. But I very rarely go to the post office and will not go to any business that is posted as a no gun zone! If my gun isn't welcome, they don't get my money. :)

Unfortunately, yes. I've heard that it's "an insurance thing".

I don't like it any more than you do, but it unfortunately is what is it.

I still go, cause guys like thatmguy are there. He's a quality dude, and I always stop and chat.

Thanks for the info. And I've heard that "insurance" excuse before. IMHO, it is BS! But it is what it is. Sorry, but I won't go. Same as I will not go to NY, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, California, and a few other states. There are 37 states where my concealed carry licenses are honored. When I travel, they are the ones where I will spend my money. I won't spend my money in a state where I can't carry or in Ohio where I can not carry. That's just the way I am.

Well, since this got derailed...

If you are a promoter, how will you know that every person carrying is a CHL holder??

Will your door people be trained on EVERY STATES issued CHL and be able to tell fakes??

Their rule is no loaded guns, except Law Enforcement with proper credentials.

Their house, their rules.

If one doesn't like them, that person has the right, as you've chosen, not to attend.

Don't see what the problem is of unloading just prior to entry, and reloading upon leaving.

(sorry, no kuks, swords, or B8s kids...)

Sorry, I didn't mean to derail your thread. I did read your link to the rules before I asked the question about carrying at the show. And if the situation was as you state above, "unloading just prior to entry and reloading upon leaving", I would NOT have a problem with it. But the RULES I read at the link in your post stated that ammo must be left in your car. That is what I have a problem with. Walking to and from my vehicle with a very expensive "paper weight" in my holster!!!!;)

I'd really like to meet you and talk to you in person about guns and knives and such. Maybe some other place and time.
