  I lent my buck 110 fg to a friend yesterday to cut a few ropes and sure enough,he somehow snapped about 1/4 of the blade off.....seems that when he was done cuting the ropes,he fired it into the wood floor while he worked on the ropes, then gave it the wiggle when he hauled it out.

Now i realize why buck sends that paper with advice on whom you lend your knife to.

Hopefully i can find a upgrade from buck.

Does Buck do friend upgrades? I have a few to send in. Sorry about your 110 RAZORBLADES, I would keep a cheap loaner around for that one or folks like him.

I only loan the ones that I don't care about..........haven't come across one of those yet!

Don't...loan...knives...EVER!!!!!!!! There are serious morons out there. Hope your buddy is going to pay for the damage he did. Maybe you should offer to 'park' his car into a brick wall:grumpy: .

OK,well, I should post that he had his own knife but it was a cheapy and wouldn't cut butter.

He also offered to pay for the repair.

I got so tired of guys breaking knives while I was with the 10MTN I hooked a lanyard to mine and told them that was as far as it went. At least I could see what they were doing that way.

Got tired of "loosing" knives or of getting them back after a guy used the blade to cut wire or some other crazy stuff!

10MTN. MY PART OF THE COUNTRY.

I don't loan any of my knives....PERIOD! If someone needs something cut, I may do it for them, otherwise they're on their own.

Sorry about your 110. Dad raised us that if someone did not carry a knife then they sure did not know how to treat yours. When I was an apprentice my Journeyman loaned his liner lock to the Boss to open freight, when done he said your knife is hard to close as he pushed it against a wall stud and folded over the lock. No need to be smart to be the Boss just be the owner’s son.

...I don't believe Buck does blade ( friend )"upgrades" any longer although I've been known to be wrong on more than one occasion...LOL...Upgraded steels are available on Custom knives however...

Long before I knew about Buck, I had a 110. I was 19 and my buddy said, "let me see your knife". He grabbed it and broke the tip off trying to jimmy the wing window open on a truck. Not his truck but he wanted the stereo inside.
Only good thing about this story is that he did not do any damage to the truck, cant say the same about my knife. Lesson learned.

Sorry but we dont do the upgrades anymore. We might give it a try again in the future.

I 'll never lend one again, the guys are gonna have to get their own 110,and dump the pakistan knockoffs they carry,LOL.
