busted my Voyager

Bkbt: I always love seeing a knife that gets really used. How did you snap the tip? Lifting an engine block? Prying up a manhole cover?

Oh the shame of it. You broke a CS knife . Forever shame I sentence you to 10years of only owning 2 dollar flea market made in Pakistan knives.

actually what happened is awhile ago me and some buddies were shooting my bow and arrow in the backyard with a 1" sheet of plywood as backdrop. I've learned plywood is not a good stop because they get driven really far in. (3/4") you can't just pull them out by hand. so i just hammered my voyager into the area around the arrow to pry it out. after doing this a couple more times the front maybe 1/2" got bent to the left a bit. when closed it slightly rubbed the liner. It always kinda bugged me so the other night i figured id fix it...

sorry about the link guys just use scotts if you want to see
ya I'm thinking about grinding it back down into a point. my concern is with just a file it would take hours and a busted arm. so how hot can it get before the temper goes south? is a angle grinder cooled with lots of water too hot?

well since it's already busted, I'd go ahead and grind it. Slowly. With lots of water ..... And beers.

Yep, you'll wanna go with a powered grinder of some kind. A file would be a nightmare. I'll second (third?) the advice given in the 2 posts above.

I'll go ahead and grind it down. As chris said its already busted plus it has no warranty so theres not much to loose lol. I'll post pics when i get around to doing it

They're cheap enough that you can by another without much fuss. Seeing as you're one of the folks that use yours & post pics I selfishly encourage you to get another & retire the new tanto to the glovebox. What all did this folder get used for up to this point? I have a few & they seem tough as hell.

No no no. That's impossible. Cold steel knives can NOT be broken. If you don't believe me just watch their "proof" video.:D

It's not busted, now you get to grind it into something cool like a wharncliffe! :D

But the joy of cold steel is the lock will never fail now that its the tri ad :) my ak47 took a sledge hammer blow to the middle of the handle while suspended above two bricks and the blade broke still in the cutout notch. merica.

Anything made by man can be broken by man. We just aim to push the bar a little higher
Nothing is indestructible...but we are working on it ;)
