Busted scales, warped replacement, solution?

Greetings fellow blade bros - I found this rad two sun fixed blade that's a fantastic pairing knife and the scales just fell apart. I was shocked that they even tried to correct it, but they sent "replacement scales" and hardware - unfortunately they're warped and don't fit, and probably would have broken in the same way in a few weeks... But the steel and the grind are amaze-balls. I would just parachord wrap it and call it a day, but I only use this in the kitchen and it won't work with the way I cook (think paintball fight...) So I have screws but I only have hand tools, no shop where I can belt sand down a block of Micarta or drill press at the moment. Other suggestions greatly appreciated! (This is 14c28N and it's thin thin thin - very fun.)

I would probably just use it as it is without scales. I wonder if you can put some weight on the scales and flatten them out in a week or so?

I make custom scales, mostly for folders. But this model fixie looks pretty simple to make. I can make them out of Micarta, gcarta, fatcarbon, G10, etc. Just not metal at this time.

Maybe G10 would be better scales for a kitchen knife.

I've got a super dumb idea. Hot glue. It could be tricky, but if you make sure the glue goes on both sides of the tang and fills the empty space in the middle, then it should stay in place without needing any screws. It would have to be one solid piece, and that might be difficult.

The other dumb idea I had was to wrap it in paracord and then cover the paracord with plastic wrap or something.

They call it “bone copper” but as far as I can tell the liners are brass and the ‘bone’ is most likely plastic. flattening them may work but as they still don’t quite line up properly and they’re so cheap, I’m sure they will break in the same way pretty fast, so I’m not looking to try to force the Two Sun scales on. Not a dumb idea - I’m sure I could get a palm sander or something close to go from there. Good point on the G-10 also. Thanks, brain trust!
viscious - will hit you up! Thanks yall!
