Not very often anyone sees me post anything but an art dagger. Just changed my avatar to another in the collection - and kinda wanted to see the images, so hope others like this sole authorship English Bowie by Buster Warenski. And no matter which way the knife is lined up, they are great Coop shots -thanks, Coop!

When Knives 2010 first arrived, I noticed the knife on page 100, next to that great Josh Smith Searles Bowie. I still can't figure out why a 27 year old knife/sheath was in Knives 2010. Wierd. But still kinda neat.

It probably has more to do with when the photos were taken than when the knife was made.
Never get tired of seeing this beauty.

^^ It probably has more to do with Ken Warner's Joe Kertzman's appreciation for Buster's work, and yes, the photo arrived in his inbox in 2008. :D

A wonderful knife by EVERY measure. Hey, Buster could engrave with the best of them. Exhibit A!

Good for YOU!

Lemme tell ya, there are a reasonable number of his little daggers with a wee bit of engraving around - and there are some very magnificent Buster-engraved daggers still around. But I have yet to find another English Bowie with this kind of coverage by Buster (they MUST be around somewhere, LOL) - and always on the lookout! Gotta admit, he left nothing out on this one.

Buster pretty much out-Henry'd D.E. Henry on that one.:D

Very nice piece

How long have you owned it may I ask ?

Coop great pic as usual

I've owned it a few years, not sure how many. May have owned it for the same number of years I've had strokes, LOL. Not that long in the big scheme of things. Certainly not an original owner.

It was on the cover of Blade, Aug, 1982 - so that tells you I've not owned it for nearly as long as it's been owned by others. But it's original - and a rarity that the sheath is actually marked re: the engraving, as well. He usually didn't mark the sheath with respect to the engraving, according to Julie and Curt.

That is one of my favorite bowies by Buster. To me it is a timeless design and everything about it is just classic. Great style, sheath, materials and engraving.

I have seen it pictured in various place and it ALWAYS gets my attention.

Congratulations on owning it Bob.

Peter, I feel the same way about this Bowie. I'm sure that's why I have just never been able to let this particular one go.

The daggers have been the thing for me, but this Bowie holds a special place in the collection.
