Well, here we go again with another oldy but goody for your viewing pleasure, something just acquired. Once I get this to Coop and get a good image, I will post another thread. In the meantime, hope you all enjoy these small images.

The "Persian Battle Blade" name is just something I made up. I have no idea if this is a Moorish or Persian style, though obviously middle eastern influence. If anyone knows the geographical influence, I would very much like to know.

After talking to Curt Erickson, we've decided this was made in the late 70s or early 80s. It's full 3/8" bladestock, 9" blade, 14 1/2" overall length, triple hollow ground, flawless elephant ivory handle. Hard to imagine all of the edges being ground, I know, but they are! Condition: Looks like it came right off the maker's bench.

EDIT: THREAD CLOSED, NEED IMAGES FOR ELSEWHERE

BLLARRRGH!!!
What a talent he had!

I'm surprised that piece isn't owned by some billionaire sheik somewhere. Good work Bob!
Don't tell me you found it in your buddy's camping gear box...

I have given thought to getting rid of my house gun (Colt 1911A1) and just using this as a club.

Very cool knife, what I like the best, besides the obvious, is the fact that it isn't embellished in any way. Bob, I hope you will keep it this way!!

Marcel, I am in complete agreement. When I first saw it, I knew that doing anything whatsoever would detract from it's purity and form.

Bob, I'm glad you listened to me;), but seriously you are right. This knife is pure and has some great lines and nothing must detract from that.

This is one amazing Warenski knife, Bob, one of many I suppose,
from his early days that few have ever seen.

More and more of these extraordinary knives will be surfacing
as some of the collectors who were lucky enough to afford buying
them in the 70's and 80's are now "retiring"....

Those were the days when knife artists like Buster and W.W. Cronk
created their blades from one piece of steel grinding them as amazing
flowing art pieces!

All the best,
David Darom (ddd)

I used to own one just like that with ivory micarta. It was a beautiful piece.

Those grinds are amazing.
Buster's creativity was as broad as his talents.
Congratulations and thanks for sharing Bob.

WOW - Incredible knife Bob. I'd never seen that one before either. Buster Warenski has been one of my favorite knifemakers since i'd first seen some of his knives.

Congratulations!!

Peter

This knife is RICH! I love the sheath. I will assume there is a long cutout on one side?

Nice focus, Bob. I am pleased for you.
