I just wanted to say hi and I hope everyone has had a great start to their week! What's going on!

No pic today but I'll get some soon, I'll have more Framelocks and a few fixed blades in progress this week. :D

Fixed blades? Wow!!! Where do you find the time? Lol

:D lol only a few and they are already profiled and heat treated. Rigging Knives for an older order and maybe something else. I'm not sure if I can finish the folders in a week but I do have them profiled/flats/drilling/tapping/heat treat done from a couple of weeks ago. It will be a busy week I know that! :D

I also have some cool new handle material coming in... carbon fiber, micarta, silver lightning strike cf, silver twill, snakeskin canvas micarta... I'm excited!

...watching Mind of a Chef for a bit then Deadwood once Jade is in bed. This is the second round of Deadwood and I love it!

I might start Twin Peaks over again too, lol.

We just finished moving into our new apartment and I now live in a state where I can actually carry my knives! DFK Tanto is in my pocket!

I watched the first episode of Twin Peaks and couldn't go back. I should give it another try.

Back to reality...what a concept. To and from Taos, we drove through a small town called Eagle Nest. It's in the Moreno valley in the Sangre de Cristo mountains. A little over 8000 ft elevation and located between Angel Fire and Red River ski resorts.

If you've been to Ouray, you know how it's like being at the bottom of a steep bowl. Eagle Nest is in the middle of a platter, if you will. Still surrounded by mountains but the valley is larger and more shallow. So beautiful. My new objective is to find a way to afford a small place there and to talk Jan into spending time there after she retires. I don't know which will be harder. LOL "A man's reach should exceed his grasp"...or so they say.

Keep active and alert, everyone. :D
I cannot do the TV-thing. I need to keep the few brain cells that I have. :D
RockOn!!

Nice! As a kid Taos was a favorite vacation spot along with Red River both in ski season and in the summer. I am pretty sure we also explored the Eagle's Nest area in a Jeep long ago. I keep meaning to make it out there and was telling Sara we need to check out the area as we want to buy a larger house. I am a big fan of the high altitude areas near the desert as we get such nice weather and lots of seasonal variation. My area here is not far down the road and a bit like that.

If you like exploring old ghost towns and mine areas this whole region is top notch. We also have all of the winter activities along with just about anything you can think of doing outdoors in the summer.

Good call Rolf! This ankle sprain has me watching TV more than I would like. It's pretty solid now though...

Between here and the Virgin Islands I have either not had a TV or signal... I now have a Roku and it is too fun but I still don't watch anything current. If you can get a station here it is Albuquerque! I haven't seen more than a few minutes of the news in the last 15 years and don't miss it a single bit... I usually have no clue what is going on either, lol.
