But I'm feeling much better now.

Have been slower the last two days Uncle Bill's been gone to respond. Thursday was involved in changing Doctors, Friday in a Gun of the Month club relapse frenzy.

Remember the TV show "Night Court" where Judge Harry's dad, in and out of the funny farm all his life, would tell a tale of past insanity, then end it with the saying..." but I'm feeling much better now... " you get the point.

And when it's time for my medications now, the new doctor made a few changes. Reminds me of the cartoon at the pharmacy that said

" I'm sorry sir, but those drugs have been taken off the market. The side effects were too much fun. "

Anyway, should be able to response quicker to your questions henceforth.

It's OK, Rusty. Thing's will look better in the morning. Just try to get a good night's sleep.

Actually he kept four meds as they were til I could see a diabetologist (if that's what they call them), threw six meds away, and added two in replacement for the six he discontinued. And the ones he added back were only taken once a day where the others he tossed had to be taken 2 or 3 times a day.

So I'm taking seems like less than half the number of pills, with most only once a day. That alone makes me feel better already. That was day one.

And locating and buying 2 pre-GCA '68 imported 380's, one mechanically perfect with some blueing lost and it's twin NIB & unfired has turned me insufferably smug today. The first my dealer's sent paperwork on, the second, the guy's getting a dealer for my guy to send the paperwork to. The first should get here next week, the other the following week, I hope.

What is that song - that's it - from the Pocahontas soundtrack "Mine, Mine, Mine"! Is my greed showing yet? Now to find that 3rd one so I'll have, as they say in competition, one to shoot, one for a spare, and one in the shop.

For that matter, I forgot to thank you for the good wishes. Gladly accepted and appreciated.

A second opinion is always good and check with the pharmacist who dispenses your medications to make sure you know what you need to know.

At a minimum, you should know what the medication is for, how to properly take it, what potential side effects could occur, which side effects require you to promptly contact your doctor. Also, doesn't hurt to check with your pharmacist or doctor if something out of the ordinary happens and do regular doctor's visits to keep yourself well tuned. Deal with medical problems while they are small and not when they put you in hospital.

Just my professional opinion.

Ray was right on also.

Heinlein fans will remember the "Quis ipsos custodiets" as "Who will watch the watchers" or "Who will guard the guardians". Roughly.

Those who nurture or protect others ( healers, teachers, peace officers, counselors ) don't take care of themselves til someone gives them a swift kick to wake them up. I informally keep an eye on and care for a bunch of the caregivers around here, so that answers the question who cares for the caregivers. Who cares for me? Ummmmm, choke, sprays mouthful of diet soda ... will check in with some of my students.

Then I'll go fishing. Thanks all.

Good point, Rusty about caregivers. We are often the worst to ignore signs that something is not right personally and require a good kick in the posterior to get us to do the right thing. We need good friends to periodically "wake" us up.

He who knows, and knows that he knows, is wise - follow him.”

Those problems, Uncle Bill are transitory. They won't bother you a bit when you've lost all your hair and can only gum your food.

Just bringing a little ray of happiness to you Uncle. ( snicker )
