I was yapping with a guy tonight about hunting etc., and he told me a story about a buddy of his. I guess that his bud is a bear guide and he had a weird experience. Apparently I looked skeptical so he brought the video up on his lap top. I lived for several years in northern Saskatchewan and never trusted blackies. The buggers would come into town now and then, to be trapped and taken out. School closures etc. Anyway. for those of you that poo poo about my black bear warnings watch these videos. I still say that the wild isolated northern boreal blackies are less acclimated to humans.

They are wild animals. You don't know what people are going to do much less a wild animal. Interact with any animal with respect and at your own peril.

Here there was a fellow who came out of a store and met a bear . He took the option of climbing a tree , not realizing there were a couple of cubs in the tree !! There was a bit of excitement but everything turned out OK !!

I have seen up to a dozen black bears in a day just driving to work. They have no fear up here and they often come in to town.
