Any good butane lighters that have a cone type flame? (Bunsen Burner Style?) I've only seen cheapies. Also, is there a preferred brand of butane? (Cheap stuff clogs)
Also, with Colibris, which style ignition is which? (SST, Force V, etc)

I've got two Colibri's and both are SST ignition which run flawlessly on Colibri fuels. Brunton makes several excellent torches, my favorite being the Firelight which has a white LED built into it. I bought a Vector X-Sonic torch some time back and really like it. It designed and shaped similarly to a Zippo which was it's biggest draw. I only fill it with Vector butane since I've discovered it is quite fuel fussy.

Whatcha plannin' on setting on fire GB? ;)

BTW, what's the update on your knife situation with MOM?

Lets see, she took my request as a joke, but I asked in the most formal way possible. My sister got a SAK rip off from our neighbor as an Easter present (from Claires, that teenage hair accesory ship) and she got to keep it.

They don't have that nice steady/searing blue flame butane does, although Zippos are pretty damn wind resistant.

Ive been using a Windmill for several months now. Its the most wind resistant lighter ive yet tried, even better than the Colibri twin flame Quantum i had (the Chariman model). The Colibri burns much hotter, but is very fragile and needs babying. Dont even think about using cheap butane on it (thats how i killed mine).
Whats wrong with a Zippo? They leak all the time and i dont like my smokes tasting of petrol. Apart from that, theyre fine.

I have two nice butane lighters, as well as a couple of awesome butane "torch" lighters I got from my cigar store hangout for $15.00 each. What do I carry most of the time? A Zippo. Yes, if you overfill them, they do leak -- (my fiancee' just got irriated at me when I gave her a nice Zippo to replace the $1.00 bic she carrred, and it leaked on her) -- but I kinda like the extra "zing" the petrochemical fumes give my cigars.

Although Calibri (sp?) makes good lighters, imo another company called Promethious (I'm probably misspelling the name -- you know, the guy the gods got pissed at for bringing man fire) makes a better product, and has a longer warranty. But you pay a couple of dollars more.

I've got the FireLite from Brunton for camping... it works quite well and has a pretty good sized fuel tank. It's got one hell of a flame... very cool in the dark! The LED light is handy but I wouldn't us it too much.. the battery is pretty small. I does come in handy to get your fire building materials put together in the dark ;)
I also carry a Solo lighter with electronic starter.. it's got a nice long (2") flame which is hotter than hell... I call it my portable cutting torch :D It doesn't have a very big fuel reserve though.

I have a Windmill, but don't use it that much. My lighter needs center mostly around lighting cigars. The Windmill, unfortunately, is not as wind - proof as touted, and also scares me a little: I'm afraid that sometime I'll screw up and burn my nose (or singe my whiskers) when lighting up a stogie. The Windmill is hot.

So I mostly use disposable lighters. They work great and cost next to nothing.

I smoke mostly Italian Toscano cigars. I'd link to their web page, but it doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

Do you get a discount on horses, ponchos's and single action revolvers from that place if you buy thier stuff? :D

Those Toscanos look like good cigars. They look like a true "homemade" cigar-- a cheroot.

I like those better than the Cuban style of cigar.

They are good. They're strong, though, definitely not for the faint of heart. After you've gotten used to Toscanos, Cuban cigars feel like you're smoking air.
