Is anyone familiar with a maker by the name of Butch Harner? I saw one of his knives in gunbroker and it looks awesome. I never heard of him.

go to jerzeedevil.com register and do a search for him. i see him every year at the chesapeak knife show in timonium. he make's very nice micarta, and his razor's are second to none (sorry robeson). also he is a very nice guy with a lot of knowlege to share. if you are close come see us on december 13. i hope this help's your search.
 
One more vote for Butch, or L.R. Harner. He's a real talented maker, very nice designs, cool guy and one of the very few makers who also makes kitchen knives and shaving razors. Here's his website.
 
i have 2 of Butch Harner's kitchen knives. a Paring knife with 3 1/2" blade and a larger Slicer with 7" blade. both are excellent slicers, perfectly even thin grind and super sharp edges. handles are wood, very attractive and ergonomic hand fit.
he posts knives for sale in the "Fixed Blade Knifemakers For Sale" forum here.
he also makes other FBs like Hunters, etc., and some Tactical style Folders.
based on my own experience and feedback he receives from others, if you get one of his knives, it will be an excellent knife and you will be very pleased.

I now own several of his knives and cannot say enough good about him. Very talented man and a great guy too.

hey guys thanks for the heads up and for pointing in the right places (guess i need to pay and have my handle her changed to L R Harner)

that blade is one i did a bit ago if you liek it im not sure when i might make another (was a 3 blade job) 2 for the order and one as back up all blades came out great so i had a extra to finish and the 2 other ones were dressed up

also thanks for all the kind word
btw while i ll be at the show this year i will not have a table tho im sure a razor or 2 will be on a table someplace i l be there the night before for the JD dinner then shopping for supplys the next mornign (will try and stay most of the day if you catch me to talk feel free)
 
butch makes wicked knives,....kitchen knives...big choppers....hunters....razors....i have seen em all from him....i own two kitchen knives and another on the way down the road.....if i had th emoney i'd pick up a hunter....the one i saw was near perfect.....ryan:thumbup:
