I wanted to know if anyone knew whether the Valloton Conversions were reliable. I have an Emerson Commander and was thinking about sending it to Butch for the conversion.

ya outta ask this in the auto knife section,

i have never owned a valloton conversion, i have heard the conversions they do on buck 110's are ok, FWIW, have never seen/heard of an EKi conversion, i would think they would be harder to convert due to being liner locks, but i could be wrong.

pretty sure he converts liner locks as well.

ive seen an al mar sere that was converted, seemed reliable enough.

well I spoke with Butch and he said he would do the commander for 120 bucks which I didnt think was bad. I just didnt wana do something that wouldnt be reliable.

The Vallotons make nice autos. I think they're as good a choice as any for doing a conversion.

I have one, they had to modify the backstop pin to fin the auto release mechanism, so they do have to do some grinding and such to make it work. The hidden release is pretty cool and overall it's smooth. I carry it at times, but not much due to the legality issues with it. I've never had a failure with it due to mechanics, it just doesn't like mass quantities of pocket lint and all.
