Hi all,

I have a CR Skinner which is a very nice and strong knife. On the aluminum buttcap the color (KG cote) has been scratched away a bit. Is there any way to "paint" it with something? Please dont tell me to send it to CR, because I leave in Greece and would take a long time, apart from the fact that may be lost and I do not want to loose my Skinner.
By the way I would have one observation to make and if somone knows please tell me. Why the lock strap is sewn the "wrong" way? It is a little unusual and a bit more difficult to open it.

Thank you in advance,

Tilemachos

You can order new butt caps for about $25. But being that it is aluminum I wouldn't worry about it too much as it won't rust on you. I am not familiar with the Skinner sheath but have you thought about having made for you out of kydex? PiterM (a member on this forum) makes an awesome sheath for CRK knives.
