"Butter Knife"

I come from frugal New England roots...

My mom had a butter knife! My dad built most our house with 3 tools...

1. hammer,
2. circular saw, and
3. wooden folding ruler.

I really enjoy your stories sm. You should really post more often. Yep, I sure do miss em Georgia peaches.

Us Yanks must have a different, more expensive, interpretation on the "butter knife" - my wife uses a 6" chef's knife for everything. The woman should be arrested for knife abuse. The handle's been used as a hammer, the back of the blade has been used to pry open cans, it's been used to baton through chicken bones. I cringe whenever she picks that thing up. On the flip side, she's an AWESOME cook. If she puts her mind to it, there's few Italian restaurants that can beat her food.

Mebbe you should get her one of those old Air Force Survival knives! Sounds like just the thing for her. ;)

I was discussing food with my Art History Survey professor once and we determined that Italian food was fine art and Greek food was folk art. I'm up for both!

Yes I am blessed to have a great cook for a wife, and because of that, I will continue to "feed" her knives so that she'll keep feeding me.
