Butterfly/Balisong Trainers

I looked around the internet and I wanted to ask if the balisong trainer is illegal for minors? I want to get my son one but I don't know if they're illegal in public or not. Thank you.

The laws on balisong knives vary depending on your area, but if you were to just get him a trainer, it should be fine. Just teach him to respect it as he would a real knife and to leave it at home, he shouldn't carry it in public.
