Butterfly knives in VA

are butterfly knives illegal in Virginia? please tell me.. cuz i read something and it said that " this section shall not apply to any person while in his own place of abode or the curtilage
thereof" so does taht mean i am allowed to use on my own property or something? please help

Legal to own; legal to carry openly; illegal to carry concealed, except on your own property.

dsvirsky, how about folding tactical knives? I may get a used MOD MK I or Cold Steel 26SP from a buddy soon, but not sure if it's legal to carry openly / concealed in VA.
