Butterfly knives don't suck, but any sheath I have ever seen for them does. So with that in mind I have been working on a Kydex sheath that will be available soon. How soon? Not really sure but I should have the protoype done next week and I am shooting for a August/September delivery.

Basically it will look like the sheath that comes with the Halo III.

Now my design will hold only the pivot area of the handle, so nearly the entire handle is grabable. The tits on the blade which stick out when the knife is closed will be what holds it in the sheath, and it will be very secure even though only about 1 1/2" will be covered in Kydex. This means you will beable to pull the knife out EXTREMELY fast!

You will also be able to change the angle position of the sheath to your liking. As with the HALO rig you simple remove the set screws and turn the sheath to the angle you like.

The cost should be about $25. The first batch I will be making will be for the BM-42 series should be available in August/September. If you preorder now you will get them for only $19.99 and FREE shipping. Make sure you order them as a seperate item and do not combine it with any other order.

These will be wayyyyyy coool!

I will also have another made for the Jaguar series after we get the first batch out.

As soon as I get the prototype I will post pics.

Oh Dude, they look great!

I think I'll be getting two of those, but I just have one concern....... can you really get a reliable, tight fitting Kydex sheath without sending them your knife???

Just curious, because I've been hearing so much about that lately.

Hey Mike,

I hit your "add to cart" button and it came up with a price of $19.99 + $5.00 shipping for a total of $24.99. I hit the recalculate button and it still came up with the shipping charge.

Didn't you say that shipping was free?

Nick

The shipping will show up no matter what. I will remove it in house on all orders placed before we recieve the actual product.

Jonas,

You are VERY close to what I am making, very close. Mine will have a slightly thinner profile but your pic is dead on target. Also mine will be convertable to a neck sheath. I forgot to mention that in the previous post and Drapers pics reminded me of that. BTW the HALO III sheath does the same thing, it just is not recomended that you do it by Microtech.

Butterfly knives do suck. If you get going fast enough, you can create a partial vacuum, you know.

With the 42, I'm hoping to get my helicopter spin going fast enough to take off. I think I need to loose some weight, though.

I too would like to see how this compares to Waxes' sheath.. but I would probably only get one for my jag.. kinda funny how it is even more expensive than the jag itself

but right now I have faith in my sidearm (matt's popper) as the best there is.. but don't mean I wont keep an open mind.
