What is the status of this knife? I've bought a couple from another company, but would much rather spend my money on a Spyderco.

I think that as of yet there is no status.
I don't know and somebody who does will probably be along shortly.

Bali's are a bitch cause of the bad rep. Some places think that it is not worth the potential bad reputation that having/making/selling whatever entails.

Bali's are illegal where I live (Australia) and places like the UK, when really they are pratical attractive knives, with the safest lockup ever.
:(

sorry abt the rant, and I have already proclaimed my desire for a sypderco bali and still stand by this :D

From what I've heard over on the bali forum, the few who are in the know, have seen an actual prototype. No pictures, no details, but they say that one exists, and the stainless version was either beign worked out, or was done...

So from what I gather, it's definately in the works, I just wish I knew more, like when it would actually be out.

The name is "Spyderfly" (what else, he, he?) and they say it's quite a piece. Can't wait to see it, as Spyderco was into "regular" folders and a balisong is quite a challenge.
